I received a cake decorating kit for a wedding gift and I’ve been waiting for a special occasion to try it out. These are the practice cakes, but I’ll be making a layer cake this weekend for a farewell party (boo hoo!).
The cake recipe is from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, but instead of using a cupcake pan I put the batter into a 1″ jellyroll (?) pan. I then used a big heart cookie cutter to cut out smaller cakes. As you can see my icing technique needs a little work, but it’s all for fun. I think the word love is legible. It’s been a long time since I practiced penmanship. I’m debating whether or not to put the name of the guest of honor on the cake this weekend…maybe you’ll see the results here. With love
