I completed the smocking on the white choker yesterday but added the velcro today, consequently I’m calling it 11½. The smocking on the pink bracelet was done weeks ago, but I added the velcro today. I’m searching for a place to buy for velcro in colors other than black, white or beige. Any suggestions?
This morning I volunteered as a sewing coach at DC Threads (www.dcthreads.org). The founders, Laura and Allison, started it to “help keep the art of sewing & stitch crafts alive and well in the District of Columbia.” They’ve been very successful at this. I haven’t counted the number of exact attendees, but every month there are at least 25 people there learning to sew, getting advice on sewing projects, or coaching. It is even featured in the Feb/Mar issue of Vogue Pattern Magazine, along with 9 other sewing lounges across the country. It lots of fun and inspirational too…it’s awesome to see someone finish their first project and realize that they really can sew! Makes me want to keep up on my own sewing projects and continue to learn new things. Keep stitching!
